....I'm it...

Thanks to Shylo I'm going to talk about me for a minute.

~List 6 interesting facts or habits~

I proofread everything. I don't even know I'm doing it until I notice mistakes and make mental notes. I feel somewhat satisfied when I finish reading anything and no mistakes were noted. (of course I never proofread blogs....maybe...no promises :)

This brings me to another of my habits... the three dots. I am conscious of this habit so I try to keep it under control, but sometimes I am unsuccessful. The three dots are just comforting, noting a continuing thought without actually having to continue a thought. I feel that other people know what I'm thinking and can complete the thought for me. It saves me from all the trouble of typing. Because we all know it's so difficult to type.

I'm sarcastic. Super sarcastic. Blogging has been the hardest thing for me because sarcasm doesn't translate through the written word very well. It's a "you had to be there" type of communication. I consider my sarcasm one of my best and worst traits. I love making people laugh and feel comfortable so sarcasm aides with this. Yet sometimes I go too far and that's when it's bad for all.

How many so far...only three? Ok, I love games. Card games are my fave!!! We play various versions of Rummy and I am in heaven. I've not always loved games, but as soon as I took the concept of "it doesn't matter if you win or lose if you have fun" to heart I look forward to each game opportunity. A new love has been a game called Ticket To Ride. It's a board game but I don't hold that against it. My sisters introduced me to this game and I can't get enough. I think I like it so much because I actually have to think. Card games are 99% luck and fun and all, but thinking and somewhat controlling an outcome is nice.

I fight with my baby. This is a habit I am trying to get control of as soon as possible. Darren just told me to mention that Judson usually starts the fight. We mostly fight over who should hold the bottle, when he should go to bed and whether whining is an appropriate way to express emotion. He always wins the fights because he cries and I give in. He's such a baby!! :) (see the sarcasm, right?) I do often announce that Judson and I are in a fight. It's not ever true but it's fun to imagine a fight between a 29 year old and an 8-month baby.

Finally...I am overly observant. I notice everything. I notice if there's a string hanging from a sleeve of a shirt from a person three rows up from us at church. I notice if teeth are crooked or eyes are lazy from moment one of seeing someone. I have a photographic memory so this adds to this noticing of mine. I notice if something has been moved the moment I walk into a room in my condo. I can tell if Darren has come home from work during the day as soon as I come through the front door. This is just a 6th sense of mine since I don't see dead people. I don't notice things on purpose, they're just there.

Ok, now you know. I'm crazy and that's ok. I've come to terms with it and I like me anyway. I'm not going to tag anyone specific, but if you'd like to write 6 facts or habits I'll read them. I read blogs everyday and I love it. I guess that's another habit of mine. I log onto Google reader everyday, sometimes multiple times just to read what you write about your life. So thanks for being interesting and entertaining me.

Days 7-10 in NH

Only 48 hours left. I'm both happy and sad about this. I have loved spending time with my sisters and their families. It has been fun and we've fit a lot in. I do, however, miss Darren. I think Judson misses him too. Sometimes he'll just cry for no reason and I think it's because he wonders why his dad isn't around. We'll be home soon, though.
Wednesday:

On Wednesday we stayed close to home. We went to the Milford Loop which is the center of the town where K&K live. There are cute little shops and a grassy area in the middle. Judson loves to be in his stroller so these walks are always a must!

Thursday:

Thursday was Ginger's birthday. She's 27 years old. We started out the day long celebration at Parker's Maple Barn. They make maple syrup there and there's a restaurant and a gift shop. We were able to eat french toast with the maple syrup on it. Yummy. We also tried some maple cream soda and it really tasted like thin, cold maple syrup. A little to sweet for my taste.
Brooke had a track meet. She runs the 100 meter hurdles, 100 meter dash and jumps the high jump. It was great to see her in action. She cleared 4 feet on the high jump. She had never done that before. Yeah Brooke.
Later that evening we ate at Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse. It was yummy, but that's not the best part. There was a buffalo on the wall that talked, a skunk that went in and out of a barrel, a squirrel hanging from a lantern that would swing it's tail and many other wildlife coming to life. Judson loved the buffalo. He watched it when it talked and would keep looking back to see if it was talking again. They sang for Ginger's birthday and they had this huge moose puppet that they made her kiss. It was fun.

Friday:

Friday was uneventful. We hung out at home. When we went out to dinner Friday night, Ginger taught Judson how to clap. It was so cute!! (sorry the video is so dark, I'll get a better one later).

Saturday:

Today Kelly and Kevin ran a half-marathon at Lake Winnipesaukee . They both ran it in under two hours. That's amazing to me. I am definitely not a runner. They're great at it, though. Tonight we'll be playing games. Hopefully I'll win some of them again.

Tomorrow is Church and on Monday we fly out of here at 1ish. We'll be back in SLC by 8pm. We can't wait to see Darren again. See you soon!!

Days 5 & 6 in NH

Monday:

On Monday we went to Boston. While in boston my parents and I went on the Duck Tour. These ducks were World War II vehicles that went on land and water. So the tour was through the streets of Boston and then they took us on the Charles River. I've been on the tour before and it was great even a second time. Kelly was with Carley and Judson and they went through the mall while we were on the duck.

Then we all went and ate at the Cheesecake Factory. It's funny because now that we have a Cheesecake Factory in SLC we had to come clear to Boston to eat there.
Tuesday:

On Tuesday we went to Maine. We first went to the Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. It was right on the Atlantic Ocean. Judson and I put our feet in the ocean and it was cold. I thought Judson would scream and be scared when the cold water hit his feet, but he loved it. He was smiling and kicking his legs. We then ate a The Weathervane restaurant. We had crab cakes and I even ordered fish and chips. I hate fish so this was definately just for the seafood experience of Maine. It was ok. I've had lobster and crab before and I just don't like them. My parents and Kelly had more seafood then me and Ginger. We then went to the Lindt chocolate outlet store. Yum!!!

Today we are going to go for a walk around the Milford Oval. Milford is the town Kelly and Kevin live in and the oval is the center of town with shops and cute stores. It will be fun and relaxing. We're half-way through with our trip. Darren is doing well at home. We miss him so much, but I'm sure he loves the un-interrupted sleep he's able to get.

Look what Judson's up to

He just started doing this last night. So crazy!! He's getting so big!! I'll update what we've been doing for the last few days in a bit. The internet has been down here and it was just fixed this morning. For now, enjoy this...

Days 3 & 4 in NH

Today we went to a baby blessing in Boston. My cousin Brent and his wife Danika had an adorable little baby girl, Leisel. I'm not sure of the spelling of any of the names, so I'm sorry. It was great to be able to be there for such a special time. It's fun that the blessing was planned the weekend we happened to be out here. Their church is right next to the Boston Temple so we stopped and I got a pic.
Yesterday was a fun day. Brooke had a YW activity for mothers and daughters so me, my mom, Kelly, Brooke and Judson went. It was for personal progress. I think she completed four projects in the 3 hours we were there. They learned how to lead a hymn, they painted a sign "Steadfast and Immovable" and decorated cookies. There was also a scrapbook page they made. The leader took their pictures, printed them and they got to make their scrapbook pages right then. It was a lot of fun.
We then went to Zach's baseball game. It was a little cold and drizzly, but they still had the game. Their such troopers. Zach got a few hits and made it all around the bases numerous times. It's coach pitch so the game was short and sweet. That's the best kind. After that we just came back, hung out and then played Ticket To Ride. I won!! Yeah for me. I think that's the first time ever that I've won. Then tonight we played Hand and Foot and I won again!! New Hampshire must be my lucky winning place because I never win in Utah.
Tomorrow we're going to Boston to go on the Duck Tours. I'll tell you all about it then.

Day 2 in NH

Today was a fun day. There was a rough start with Judson waking up in the middle of the night. He usually sleeps all night through so waking up in the middle of it threw me off. I just fed him and put him back to sleep. I think he's trying to get adjusted after a big day of travel. First off Judson got a new pair of PJ's from his aunt, uncle and cousins. They are Red Sox pajamas. We're in Red Sox country so it was a necessary addition to his wardrobe. Thanks K, K and fam!!
Carley fed Judson his bottle. Judson is nearly as big as she is, but she did a great job.

Next we went to Jordan's Furniture. This is a crazy huge furniture store. We didn't actually get to the furniture because as you walk in the door there is a trapeze and water fireworks as well as a candy store and Fudruckers and an ice cream place. It's crazy.

My Aunt Jeanie and Uncle Jim are here in Boston from Cali. to visit my cousin, wife and their new baby. We met up with them at the furniture store. Uncle Jim played with Judson and was making him laugh and laugh. And then Jim took a ride on the Trapeze. It was fun to watch him. He did a flip dismount. Not too shabby!!!

Day 1 in NH

So, we made it alive!!! The flights were good. Judson was wonderful. He slept for a half hour on each leg of the flight and played the rest of the time. His ears didn't seem to bug him at all on take-off or landing. I am so relieved and my worrying is through. We are now here with my sister Kelly, her husband and kids. Judson loves all the attention he is getting from his cousins, aunt and uncle! It's nice for me too. Built in babysitters while I rest. We are so excited to be here. The fun is about to begin!!
This is Natalie and Brooke with Judson. What cute, great cousins!
