End of June

So, this year is half over! CRAZY!! So much has happened this year and so much change will happen in the next 6-months. But right now I will focus on this past week. We've had a lot going on. Darren, Judson and I are temporarily staying at my parent's house (thanks M&D) due to our Tile installation. Our tile guy started on Thursday. He got everything prepped (which means toilets were in the bathtubs and there was no tile to be seen yet). He was called out of town on Friday so he'd be back Monday. That's a long time without toilets. He is back today and laying the tile. Then he will grout the tile tomorrow and hopefully we'll be back home tomorrow night or Wednesday. I can't wait to see this tile. I should have taken before pics to compare, but I'll just take the after pictures.

On Saturday we went to our friend's, Ben and Debbie's, house in Syracuse for a bbq. There were some friends there we hadn't seen since January. It was so much fun to get together and just hang out. Judson is one month younger than Ben and Debbie's baby Anna and they had fun together. The only problem was that Anna is not scared of grass. They were both on Judson's mat on the lawn, but Anna would just crawl away and leave Judson all alone. He watched this and as the evening progressed I noticed he was taking more and more chances with the grass. He still didn't like it, but he was tolerating it to try and get to the adults on the patio. There were older (up to 4 years) kids there too. They ran all over and would periodically stop and say hi to Judson and play for a bit. We all had fun.

Sunday we went up to the Farr's cabin. It was Judson's first trip there. He seemed to enjoy the nature and the different place to be. It's hard to have a baby that can't walk up around so much dirt and so many bugs. It was hard because I couldn't just let him crawl around all over or just set his mat outside to play on. Hopefully he'll be walking the next time we go and we'll have fun with that. We love spending time with the fam in the beautiful mountains.

Now we're back to work and normal stuff. This week we're looking forward to the annual 3rd of July party at the Balony's, 4th of July celebrations and seeing our new tile. Oh and added into everything else we'll start packing up to prepare our Condo for staging and sale. It's going to be busy but well worth it.

Judson's new development this week is that more and more he wants to eat what Darren and I are eating. He's never really noticed us eating before, but now he'll always stop what he's doing and crawl over to us if we're eating or drinking. He's starting to eat a lot of real people food, too. He loves pasta. That's an easy one to make so it's good news for me. Judson is officially 10-months old now. I can't believe he'll be 1 in less than 2 months.

4 years, tile and teeth

Darren and I celebrated our 4-year anniversary this past week. It doesn't seem like it's been that long. Sometimes I feel like Darren and I have been married forever and 4 years seems to small a number. But today I feel like we just got married and 4 years seems like too big of a number. Time seems to be moving so quickly lately. It's been a great 4 years nonetheless. Darren makes it easy for me to be married to him. I'm not sure the same can be said about me. I'm probably pretty tough to be married to. But we have fun!! We also have our wonderful baby Judson and that is great! 4 years over forever more to go, Yeah!!

We have lived in our condo 3 1/2 of those 4 years. Our condo has been great, but we have decided to move. I would really love to have a yard for Judson to run around in. Right now Darren is in the process of ripping up all the linoleum because we have a tile guy coming on Thursday. This is one of our many condo improving projects going on. We are planning to put the condo up for sale at the end of July. I didn't mean for this to be an ad for our Condo sale, just more of an info post. We'll be living with my parent's after the condo sells and looking for a house in the South SL valley maybe (that's a big MAYBE) Northern Utah County. Darren is working in American Fork, but I still work in Sandy so we'll see what location works out the best.

One more bit of news. Judson had his 9-month Dr's appt this last week. He is growing well still. He measured in at just over 30 inches tall and just over 22 lbs. He's still very tall, but not so skinny anymore. He's been spitting up less and less so that is helping with his weight. He's just a great baby. He has cut two more teeth. They are his top front two teeth. This isn't the best picture, but it's a picture. I also found a picture I took of Judson and Darren lying on the couch watching TV. So Cute!!! I just love my boys!!!

Day at the Park

Judson and I went to the park today. I enjoy grassy areas because I use it as a controlled environment for Judson. Judson hates grass. He doesn't want anything to do with it. As you can see in the pictures below I keep Judson on a mat with toys. I sit about 6 feet away on my chair and read a book. Judson crawls around the mat. When he gets to the edge he'll reach out to feel the grass but then he immediately pulls his had back and makes a "yucky grass" face. After this he would crawl to the center of the mat to comfort himself with his thumb and his blanket. Also when I set him on the grass he will always try to hold his legs off the ground because of the gross grass. He's such a funny baby. We hung out at the park today for over 2 hours. I read about 80 pages of my book. The trip was successful!! Enjoy the pics.

Darren's the BEST!!!

I've noticed a lot of other blogs with Father's day posts. Why didn't I think of that? Well, better late than never.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

I'd like to wish a special happy father's day to Darren!! Have I told you that Darren's the BEST!! I love him so much. I love to watch him with Judson. That is my truest joy right now. I love that he helps me out ALL THE TIME. He's great at everything when he puts his mind to it. I could go on and on with everything Darren does (and doesn't do) that helps me to love him more and more. It's not just the help with all of the various tasks that I love him for. I love Darren just being there. There is such a comfort in knowing that the greatest man in the world is my husband and Judson's father. How did we ever get so lucky?

He's getting too big

I know this is a common theme in my posts. Judson is just growing too quickly. Here are a few pictures I've taken the last 10 days. We moved our bikes to our patio and I noticed a rainbow on Judson yesterday from the reflectors on the bike. It was cute and I had to get a picture. Look at his new trick in his jumper. He likes the whole upside down feeling. So funny!! Judson got an Ikea fish and he liked it. I just thought this was a super cute picture. And I think he's starting way too young with the Diet Coke, but I love it, so it was inevitable. :)

Also the neice, nephew's and Heather came swimming again. So much fun to play in the pool!!! Thanks for coming over!!

Whoa!!! Long time, no post.

So much has happened in the last month. I have a few pictures and a few stories to tell. First off, Judson is now 9-months old! WOW!!! I can't believe it. He has graduated from a scoot to a crawl in no time flat. He also loves to climb up to standing positing when there is anything to climb up with. A chair, tv stand, box, leg, arm, body, pretty much anything that he can grab and pull up on. He also lets go to change hands or switch toys from hand to hand. He's just growing up way too fast.

Ok, enough about Judson growing up too fast. I don't really like to think about that. When we got home from New Hampshire we went a couple of days later to watch Sami and Griffin in Tooele. We had such a fun time. We went to the park and played and went on walks both days we were there. The weather was beautiful and Sami and Griff are great kids so it was easy work.

Ginger has been here for the last couple of weeks. She came to watch Paul and
Rachelle's kids while they are in South America for Paul's school. It's been fun to have Ginger here. It's just one big party all the time. Life hasn't really returned to normal but it will be back to normal and boring soon. Ginger goes home tomorrow. We won't see her again until Christmas. It will be sad. We've seen her so much over the past two years since they've moved, but now it's down to just twice a year.

This last week Heather, Sami , Griff and Kaleb came swimming. It was so much fun. It was Judson's first time in the pool and he loved it!! He loved his crab floater. It was cool outside, but the pool was nice and warm. He only wanted to stay in for about a half an hour and after getting him in his gear (swimming diaper, rubber panties and swim suit) to prevent the cryptosporidium I don't know if it was really worth it, but he did have fun.

Darren's brother Doug was also in town this last weekend. He brought 3 of the 4 kids. I only got a picture of Lexi, but we had so much fun with Jordan and Kaylee too. We missed Kristi and Mason. Hopefully we'll get to see them soon. Mason, I'm sure is growing so fast too. Judson also loves playing with his cousin Trajen. He can pretty much hold his own now. I used to be worried Trajen would bully him, but now they just play and steal each other's toys. It's quite fun to watch.

So that's been our crazy month. It was fun and busy. Time flew by so quickly. Now back to the same old, same old. It will be nice to get back into a schedule. Hopefully that schedule will include house cleaning time. It needs it badly!!
