East Canyon

Twice a year my family spends 5 days at East Canyon. My parent's have a time share and we have been doing this for as long as I can remember. It's so much fun to spend time with the fam swimming, playing games, going for walks and just visiting. This year Darren, Judson and I were able to be there for the whole 5 days. We went up on Wednesday afternoon and stayed until Sunday. Judson loved to be around so many of his cousins and aunts and uncles. The cousins all had fun playing with and picking up Judson. He loved the attention. Here are some pics I stole from my sister Cami. (Thanks Cami!!) Cami and Juan watched Judson on Saturday while Darren and I worked on the condo. We cleaned the carpets and painted Judson's room back to boring cream. We figured more people would like the cream rather than bright green, but is sure looks boring.

There was one sad incident while we were at East Canyon. Judson had his first bloody nose. Both nostrils were bleeding. It was so sad. He was brave and made it through it ok. I'm not sure I was as strong. I'm paranoid now about him falling. Here's what happened. As we were getting everything unpacked from the cars we had put Judson in his walker with the brake on. Well, the brake is no match for Judson's leg power obviously. He was inching his way towards the open front door. I saw this, but he was moving so slowly I wasn't too concerned. As I was getting his baby food unpacked I looked over at him and didn't see him. I then looked at the front door just as his walker was flipping over with him in it. I screamed, threw the food and ran to grab him. He was really scared and he had the bloody nose, but other than that he was ok. He snuggled with me for a few minutes and then he was fine. It was scary, but we all survived.

The Move

So, we have officially/unofficially moved out of our Condo. We are living in my parent's basement, but our condo is not for sale.... yet. We decided it would be easiest to get the final touches to get it ready to sell if we were out. (especially Judson). We have a few things left to do, but hopefully will be able to list it by July 31st. This is my goal date. I'm sure we'll be able to get everything done by then. I have an entire checklist un-checked, but that's no problem. The big things left to do are painting Judson's room, replacing the kitchen sink and furnace and cleaning the carpets. The rest is just cleaning and arranging furniture. Wish us luck over these next couple of weeks. We'll need it!!! :)

First Haircut

I gave Judson his first haircut today. It wasn't much, but his hair was going crazy on the top of his head and behind his ears. I've always felt that a boy should never have to tuck his hair behind his ears. He was a good boy through the haircut for the most part. He had had it by the end, though as you can tell by these pictures.

BEFORE...

AFTER!! (it looks much better, but Judson is much more sad. I'm sure he just misses his hair. He's had all of that since birth.)

Lagoon

Judson and I went to Lagoon this past week for my parent's Stake Lagoon Day. It was Judson's first time at Lagoon and he had fun. He was a super good boy, too. We just went in for free and used the free tickets for the two rides we went on, but we also went to the Music USA show which was Broadway showtunes. Judson danced and sang along and screamed. He loved it. We enjoyed it also. It was a good show and I love Broadway Showtunes. Here are a few pics from the fun time. We were only there for about 3 hours, but with a 10-month old that was just enough time. Come to think of it, it was plenty of time for a 29-year old and two young, old people.
Entrance of Lagoon.

The Wild Kingdom Train

The Carousel. Judson didn't know what to think of this. I probably shouldn't have put him on an up and down horse. He would have had more fun and less worry on a stationary animal.

Who needs the 4th when there's the 3rd?

We always look forward to the third of July party every year. Thank you to the Baloney's for always throwing such a fun party. This was Judson's first year at the party and we were nervous to see how he would like the fireworks. He was nervous and crying for the first few minutes, but then it seemed like he just ignored them. He would look over at them every now and then when one would make a big noise, but other than that he just played. Then the finale came and his eyes got wide and his face looked horrified, but he didn't cry. Good job, Judson. Also in these pics are Judson with Ben and Debbie's, Anna(not at the party this week, but last). Brian in a small chair next to Juan. Our little fam at the party. The party on the front lawn. Debora and Toni drawing for prizes and Ian and Judson because they had matching shirts. It was so much fun!!!
