Judson's Party

We had Judson's birthday party on Saturday and it was great!! We invited Family over for some cake and ice cream. Thanks to everyone who came. Judson was so excited to have his aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and friends. I will highlight the great events with big photos, and there is a photo collage of the party as a whole. Just a note... Judson looks tired and bored in most of the photos, but he did have a really fun time. He would've rather been playing with his toys then posing for my camera most likely.

We had a cake made for Judson with his picture on it. I guess the picture is edible, but not really cut-able so we took it off the cake to cut it. It would be weird to eat Judson's face, anyway. Some people tasted the picture and said it tasted like sweet paper. I guess paper is edible, right.

I am a self-proclaimed pro at making iron on t-shirts. I made this t-shirt for Judson. It turned out so cute. I was thinking that I should do this for each of his birthdays. I'm sure when he's 16 he'll love to have a shirt that says "Happy 16th birthday to me". :)

Judson ate his piece of cake. He's had some sweets before, but never his own piece of cake. He was cautious about it at first, just playing with the frosting. But I put a finger full of frosting in his mouth and he took off and fed himself the rest. He was way too clean, though so I had to help him get the frosting in his hair. So Cute!!!!

Graduation and Birthday

On Friday Judson and I were able to go to Paul's Graduation ceremony at BYU for his Master's degree. Congratulations Paul!! It was great to see such an accomplishment. He's worked hard and spent a lot of time away from home. I bet Rachelle is happiest that he has his degree now. I'm sure it was hard being a single mom to four kids. I couldn't imagine! So congrats to the whole Stokes fam!!

On Saturday we got together with the Farr's to celebrate a month of birthdays. It was a fun party. We celebrated my birthday, Heather's and Judson's. I can't believe Judson will be one at the end of this month. This year has flown by. He is such a big boy. He's even walking a bit. (gasp!!) I've been trying to halt the process as much as possible but he is just to smart for my attempts at sabotage. I will be posting a video as soon as I can catch him in the act. For now, here he is blowing out, or actually staring at, his first candle ever. Aunt and Uncle Pela and Kevin got Judson his very own package of plastic cups. Right now these plastic cups are Judson's favorite toy. I like them too because now I don't have to buy more when we run out.

July in Review

I'm playing catch-up a little bit from the crazy July. I just plugged my camera into the computer and there are some pictures I never posted.

First Darren's sister Heather had a graduation party. She graduated from the University of Phoenix this year. Well, since Darren and I had two caps, two gowns, two sashes and two tassels we let her borrow one set for picutures. Free of charge. Aren't we so nice. Also at the graduation party we found that Judson doesn't mind grass. At least grass that is nice and cool and soft. He kept crawling off of his mat. Silly baby!!!

Then here are some more pics of East Canyon. Darren and Judson ran through the dancing waters area a couple of times. Judson didn't really mind getting wet. We also played at the playground and Grandma put together a treasure hunt for all the kids. It was so much fun!!

Judson and Trajen

Here are the pics of Judson and Trajen playing with the hole. They're cute boys!!!

The cabin or "Ooga Booga"

Darren's Mom's family has a cabin in the Uintas. It's such a fun time to be able to go up, if even just for a few hours and hang out as a fam. We have the opportunity throughout the summer to go to the cabin and this Sunday was one of those times. Darren, Judson and I headed up to the cabin after church on Sunday. We just stayed for the afternoon, but it was a much needed break and change of atmosphere. Although we were only there for a few hours, a couple of fun things happened.

We went on a walk to the upper river. I'm still trying to get all of the phraseology correct of all the landmarks the Farr's use, I hope the upper river is correct. On this walk we talked about a name for the cabin. Just to mention, the we I am referring to is Mom and Dad Farr, Brandon, Tiffany and Trajen. There are name signs for all the cabins in the area, but none for our cabin. I guess that a name has been discussed, but never decided on. A name of "The Property" was actually in the running. This cannot be. I thought about this for a second and then said, "The cabin should be called Ooga Booga." How fun would it be to say, "let's go to ooga booga this weekend"? Other names that were mentioned were "Muoohahaha" (I'm not quite sure of the spelling on this), "Ma-na-na-na" and right now as I'm writing I'd love to add a name to the pool of "Larry"(this is a beloved/silly name to Darren and makes me smile now everytime I hear it). Anyway, I will be referring to the cabin as Ooga Booga from now on, just to give name to something that deserves a name so very much.

Next Judson had such fun playing with his cousin Trajen. Trajen can walk now and Judson follows him all over the place. He just loves his cousin. They scream together, bang on the fireplace together and throw toys together. They also had fun playing with the window sill. They probably sat at the window for 10 minutes just playing and having fun together. I was finally wondering what they were playing with and it was a hole. There was a knot hole in the wood and they were taking turns putting their finger in it. This just confirms my notion that baby's do not need toys bought for them. I'm sure there are many pieces of wood out there with knots in them just waiting to captivate a baby's attention for free. It was fun to watch. Judson would often pull Trajen's hands away from the hole to put his fingers in. Trajen on the other hand would just shove his finger in the hole while Judson's fingers were still in there. This brings me to the conclusion that Trajen knows how to share much better than Judson does. It's also a foreshadow of Judson being a bully. Hopefully he can learn from his cousin and get the sharing thing down.
