Family Pics

Ok, here are the long awaited photos taken by Jen. She is amazing. These are the only pics she posted on her blog, but the others are in the mail. I'll post more when I get them!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARREN!!!

Darren is 32 today!! Happy Birthday to you!! We had a fun day of me working from home, meeting Mom/Grandma Farr downtown for lunch, opening presents with Mom/Grandma Stokes and now we're going to go upstairs to eat some yummy oatmeal cake that my mom made. Here are a few fun pictures I just took to post on the blog. Judson was being silly and so cute in all of them. Darren is so handsome, too!!

On a side note, Judson is 13-months old today also.

Overdue Visit

So, Pam is one of my bestest friends of all time. We met our Sophomore year at GHS and have been friends ever since. It was destined for us to be friends because we both had older brother's and sister's that were friends. Our older sisters Kelly and Julie really wanted us to be friends. Well, we became really good friends. Well, Pam had a baby July 1st. Yesterday I finally got around to go visit her and her baby, Jackson. It was fun to sit and chat with her. She and her hubby and baby are living with her parent's right now too, so it was fun to see her parents again.

Anyway, here are some pics of Judson and Jackson. I realized yesterday that if I wait to put Judson into school until he's the oldest in his class he and Jackson will be in the same year at school. That would be fun for our boys to be best buds, well if we live in the same area and they go to school together. Anyway, here are the pics. Isn't Jackson the cutest!!

It was fun to sit and hold him and for him not to wiggle out of my arms to go play. I don't know that it made me baby hungry, but I do wish that Judson would be a little baby again every now and then and just let me hold him and snuggle with him. Judson is so fun right now, though. I wouldn't want him to be a baby again for good.

Under Contract!!

So, on Saturday we recieved a call from our real estate agent saying that an offer was going to be faxed over in the next little bit. On Sunday we got together to go over the offer. It was a little low, so we counter-offered. Yesterday we found out our counter-offer was accepted!!! Yay!!! Our condo is under contract. In the original paperwork they wanted to close October 9th. That's so soon!!! We are going to get all of the details and schedules in the next little bit. We are just so excited that our condo sold. Now we can start looking at houses!! WooHoo!!!

Draper, Diapers and Laramie

Darren, Judson and I went up to look at the Draper Temple the other day. It is a beautiful temple. I love it's placement on the mountain over looking the valley. The temple is in a neighborhood of beautiful homes. It was fun to drive around and see the temple.

This was a timer pic. I don't think the count down from 10 on my camera is a full 10 seconds. we never could get situated in time for the picture to take. The temple is pretty, though.

Judson is obsessed with his diapers lately. He loves the Sesame Street characters on them. He will pull diapers out of the diaper bag and play with them. While I'm changing him, he insists on holding the diaper and he laughs at the character's picture. He also shows me where it goes before he gives it to me to put on him. It's funny to see him noticing things more and more. He's a fun baby.

We went to Laramie last weekend for my cousin's wedding reception. It was a fun trip. I just love my cousin, Kurt and his family. We grew up together and although we only saw each other once a year at reunions, Kurt and I always got along so well together. Just like BFF's. He married the sweetest girl Stephanie a couple of weeks ago. The funny thing is that a month earlier Stephanie's sister Liana married an elder from the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission. So the reception in Laramie was a chance to see my Aunt, Uncle, and cousin Kurt, but also Elder Fontano from WMM. Small world, eh?

So you would think that I would take pictures of the bland, grey, beige Wyoming landscape or pictures of the married couples in the dresses and suite? There was also the well advertised Little America in the middle of nowhere Wyoming? But no. There was a playground at one of the rest stops and I took pictures of that. Judson did well on the long road trip. It was fun to just get out of the house and out of the city, if only for two days.

Utah State Fair

Yesterday we went to the Utah State Fair. It was fun to walk through and look at all the animals. Judson looked, but I don't think he had any idea what it was he was looking at. He loves being in his stroller, so it's always fun to go for walks. Grandma and Grandpa Stokes came with us. My parents always took us to the fair when we were younger. It's fun to go back and remember times from my childhood. The fair always brings back the memories of stinky barns, big fruits and vegtables, hot tub and gazebo displays and motor home and camper displays. Good memories, Good times!!!

These are some fun photo ops we passed at the fair. They turned out super cute!!
Pay no attention to the man sticking out of the screen. :)

1-Year Doctor's Visit

We had Judson's 1- year doctor's visit last Wednesday and here are his stats:

24 lbs 3 oz
32.5 inches long

He's a tall boy. That is good because we're really hoping he'll play in the NBA and share his money with his poor mom and dad. That's every parent's dream, right? I'm actually hoping that as we are walking down the street someone will want to take his picture for a national ad campaign and we'll be paid a bunch of money now just for one shot. (high hopes, right? I think I'm thinking way too much about my baby making us some money.)

Speaking of pictures... we are getting family pictures taken tomorrow. As well as one-year pics for Judson. Our wonderful friend Jen will be taking the pictures again. She does a fabulous job and I am excited to see how much Judson has grown since she last took his pictures at 5-months.

Digital Scrapbooking

So, I'm trying out this digital scrapbooking stuff and here is the first page I created. I don't think it's too bad. I'm sure I'll find out more as I continue to use the program. I'm just happy to be doing some scrapbooking. I'm a year behind already for Judson. I'm digital scrapbooking through Heritage Makers. It's a lot of fun!

Judson's Hair is Curly

So, Judson woke up from his nap yesterday with super crazy hair. I figured since his hair was already crazy, I'd try to spike it. I got the mousse, and this is what happened.

His hair doesn't spike, it curls. Who knew??

Darren's Day Off

So, Darren had the day off today. We both had labor day off and had fun with Family. Darren took today off also. When I got off of work at 1 we headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon to go for a walk around Silver Lake. It was such a nice day. The high in the valley was in the 70's and my guess is that it was 70 degrees at Silver Lake. We walked the boardwalk around and stopped to look at the ducks. They came up to us because they wanted us to feed them some bread crumbs. We didn't have any, but it was nice for Judson to look at them so up close. We were teaching him to quack like the ducks. I'm sure he got the message, but just didn't vocalize it yet. It was a nice, fun walk. It's always great to be up in the beautiful mountains.
