Heritage Makers

Heritage Makers Digital Scrapbooking is the best!! I just did 21 scrapbook pages and I received them today and they're great!!!! I am very impressed with the quality. I'm happy that I just signed up for another year and 25 more pages. So far I've scrapbooked through July of this year. I want to keep up with each month. And then I can start going backwards and getting Darren and my life in Scrapbook. I definitely prefer digital scrapbooking!! It's the best!!!

2009

This year started with a bang. We celebrated the new year at Ben and Debbie's house with our friends. Judson didn't quite make it to midnight so we left at 1130 and at midnight we were on the new Legacy Parkway. Quite fitting to be on a new road for the new year. We saw both illegal and legal fireworks all the way home. It was a fun night.
The new year also brought with it our house hunt. We were ready to start touring homes and finding the right one for us. We went out once to look at homes and saw a few possibilities. The next day we found that because I was laid-off we wouldn't qualify for a loan until I got a job. So now we are waiting again. It's ok. I'm sure we're just giving the people that are now living in our house time to fix it up, clean it up and make it ready for us.
Hopefully I'll find a job soon and home even sooner after. Keep your fingers crossed for me and my job hunt. There's not much out there, but I'm sure I'll find a job where they need me and I can learn and grow.
This year will be interesting. I can't wait to find out what happens next!!!

East Canyon 2008

We went to East Canyon again this year after Christmas. It was fun. Darren was only able to be there for a day, but we tried not to have too much fun without him. We played games and just had fun being with each other. Judson loves to play with his cousins. He especially loves all of the extra attention he gets from everyone. I'm convinced he gets bored being with just me and Darren all the time. He got to go sledding. He had fun at first, but when he saw his cousin crash, he didn't like that very much. When I finally got to the hill I made him go on one more run with Sadie and he wasn't very happy about it.
The weather was so nice the whole time. We were able to spend time outside without freezing to death. And it wasn't snowing so traveling back and forth wasn't too treacherous.

After a few days of being too excited to nap very much and not sleeping well in the night both Judson and I were ready to go home. I took this picture when we got in the car to head home. Judson was all set.

Christmas 2008

We celebrated Christmas this year starting at my parents with Ginger, Sam, Cami and Juan. We woke up with Judson at 815 (Cami, Juan, Ginger and Sam said that was way too early). We found that Santa had found us. Judson's stocking was as big as he is and full of presents. We had a hard time getting Judson to open presents, but he seemed to like the presents once they were out of the wrapping. "Seemed" being the operative word. After all was opened, we found Judson at the bottom of the stairs laughing and having the time of his life with two oranges. Wouldn't that have saved Santa a ton of money? He had fun, and I guess that's the point.

We tried to get a picture of Judson with all of his presents. He wouldn't sit still. I'm sure he wanted more play time with the oranges.

Here he is in his Transformers tent from Santa. He loves to go in and out and say hello through the windows.
After opening gifts at the Stokes' we went to an omelet brunch at the Farr's. It was the best omelet I've ever had thanks to Heather and Tiffany. We had our gift exchange there. This is the interesting wrapping job on the gift for us from Pela, Kevin and Tui.
It was a very fun day. The rest of the day we just relaxed. We did stop Cami and Ginger from sneaking into a movie they didn't pay for. Good thing!!! :)

Christmas Parties

We went to a few Christmas Parties this season.

First off was a party at our friend Adrian's house. It was a lot of fun. We hung out, ate and played Outburst Remix. Judson loved playing in Hayley's room with all of her toys. Hayley was nervous he'd break something at first, but then she was ok that he was playing in there. We found out Judson was very scared of dogs moving around close to him. He has become much more brave since the night of the party, but it was sad to see him scream in fear everytime he saw the dogs. The dogs are very nice, so it wasn't even their fault. It was a fun party and just a fun group to hang out with.

Next party was the Seegmiller Family Party. This is Darren's Mom's family's party. We go to provo every year to this party. This year we had a variety of soups and yummy salad. We also brought white elephant gifts for the auction. We answered a questionaire that got us points and then bid on items with our points. I ended up only using 4 of my 26 points, but that's ok. It was a fun night.

On December 23rd my family gets together for our Christmas Eve traditions. We all bring appetizers to share, act out the nativity and exchange gifts. It's always so much fun. This year Christopher had Judson's name. He got an Elmo doll that talks when you move his mouth. He loves it!! Paul and Rachelle had our name and we got emergency preparedness items. This was our theme for the gift exchange this year. For the nativity Judson and I were Wise Men. Judson didn't really like the crown (he liked the shepherds staffs more), but I had to get a picture anyway. It's always crazy when we all get together, but so much fun.

Christmas Eve we spent at the Farr's. It was fun. We went through their Christmas Eve book which consists of the Christmas story with songs throughout that we all sing. It was a good reminder of the Christmas Story. I also love just sitting around and singing. Later that night we went Christmas Caroling with the Stokes'. It's a tradition that we try to fit in each year. We love caroling, and hope that the people we carol to enjoy it.

Our last Christmas party happened this past weekend. We went to the Little America Brunch on Saturday with the Farr Extended family. It was great!!! I love that buffet! It was fun to see all the family there. Darren was unable to attend, but Ginger, Cami and Juan came with me in his place. It takes three people to replace Darren, I guess.

We had a fun season of parties. I'm way behind on posts, but I'm catching up today. More to come...

Interesting news

Well, yesterday I was laid-off from my job. It's not really a bad thing. I was only part-time, and it was a boring job, and I was really only still there because they paid for my school and I didn't want to quit after they've been so nice to me. Anyway, it still puts a damper on our house hunt. I'm sure we'll qualify for less now, but we'll see. Hopefully we'll still be able to find something we can afford.
I am looking for a job. If any of you know of accounting jobs that are part-time with flexible hours in south Salt Lake County let me know.
